 Dr. Mark Linton, Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Mark Linton joined the East Rochester School District in July 2015 after serving in varied educational roles within diverse school environments.

A graduate of Geneseo High School, Dr. Linton earned a bachelor’s degree in special education and elementary education from SUNY Geneseo, then began his career teaching special education in rural school districts, such as York and Pavilion. He also taught special education and general education at Brighton’s Twelve Corners Middle School. After earning a master’s in counseling from SUNY Brockport in ’95, Dr. Linton worked as a school counselor in Penfield and Brighton for five years. During that time he also earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in School District Administration from SUNY Brockport. Before coming to ER, Dr. Linton served as an assistant principal at Victor Intermediate School, a principal at Livonia Intermediate School, and, since 2004, an Elementary Principal in Geneseo.

In May 2015, he earned a Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College, and was honored to receive the 2015 Scholarship Award and the 2015 Leadership Award from his colleagues in the program.
