ER third graders showcased their art skills in the Made By Milk® Carton Construction Contest, sponsored by Evergreen Packaging®, a beverage paperboard carton manufacturer.

Art teacher Mr. Mandara worked with the students to make sure they met the contest requirements, and the students took the lead in putting together their project, which they called E.R. All Sports Trophy.

The sculpture was built primarily out of milk cartons and helped teach the third graders the importance of recycling.

Out of roughly 30 teams nationwide, East Rochester came in third place and won $1,000 for the elementary school.

The accomplishment was featured on the News 8 Honor Roll.
