Middle Level Academy's New Vision Statement

Middle Level Academy's New Vision Statement
Last spring, the Middle Level Academy faculty and staff, led by the MLA Vision Steering Committee, created a new Vision Statement for grades 6-8. The Steering Committee identified key characteristics and patterns in other schools’ vision statements, analyzed relevant data, and compared vision statements vs. mission statements, and then led the entire MLA faculty through a similar process. We knew we wanted our Vision Statement – and the logo communicating and promoting it – to be student-friendly, teachable, bold, inspiring, concise yet multi-faceted, and a clear identification of where we want to go...and I’m proud to say we came up with a statement from which we can set, work toward, achieve, and exceed our goals. Many thanks to Doug Connard '17 for designing our new MLA logo!

This summer I’m excited to be transitioning to a slightly different position from the one I’ve held since the 2009-10 school year. Through my new role as 6-8 Assistant Principal, my primary objective is to guide the MLA toward our new Vision. I’m a strong advocate for collaboration at all levels to encourage and support student achievement, and that philosophy will guide my work. Through frequent and effective communication, we will foster understanding of all our goals and objectives – and I’m looking forward to the challenges and celebrations that lie ahead.
