Testing

Protocols and procedures are ever-changing during this pandemic. That being said, the district has joined many other area districts in taking Monroe County Health Department Director, Dr. Mendoza’s recommendation and has resumed our COVID-19 testing program.

At this point in time, testing is strictly a preventative measure to remain ahead of any requirements that may come from the New York State Department of Health.

In accordance with ERUFSD’s current yellow zone designation, the district will test 200 people within thirty days from when we begin the testing.

With this round of testing, nurses will travel throughout the building with a cart and privacy screens to administer the tests. Random testing can help the district identify asymptomatic individuals, helping keep the school community safe and healthy. We will be testing only students for which we have parent permission and we will look to schedule Wednesday testing as needed with students whose parents requested they be present for the test.
