The annual ER Fire Prevention Education Program 2024 started for elementary students this October and will provide many opportunities to teach ER students about fire safety. Students will watch and enjoy “Bill Nye The Science Guy Fire Safety Movie”. Today, they had the opportunity to meet a fire fighter and see a fire truck while they learned about basic fire safety. Additionally, they will visit the fire station during a walking trip and take part in activities to learn about fire safety (“stop, drop, roll” and “get low and go”). Lastly, families can participate in Operation E.D.I.T.H. where students can practice a fire drill in their own homes and be met outside by the East Rochester Fire Department.
