ER artwork on display in teacher/student art exhibition
East Rochester students Mariia Humeniuk and Eastin Cornish are participating in the Nazareth University Shared Spaces exhibition alongside their teachers, Katelyn Spath and Katherine D’Onofrio-McIndoe respectively.
Shared Spaces is a biennial high school teacher and student art show designed to celebrate the unique apprenticeship and learning relationship that develops between educators and their students. Each participating teacher submits one original piece created within the last three years and selects one student to exhibit alongside them. To honor the idea of equal gallery space, artwork is displayed without identifying whether it was created by a teacher or a student, allowing each piece to stand on its own.
The exhibition is open to the public, with an opening reception on Friday, January 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arts Center Gallery at Nazareth University. The show will be on display through March 8. Gallery hours are Sunday through Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. Families, friends, and community members are invited to attend and support our students!
