As a means for providing each student with an opportunity to discover, and to support equitable access to technology, the district began to provide Google Accounts and Chromebooks to all 9-12 students in September 2016. This has since been expanded to cover all grades. Google Apps for Education and the Chromebooks are used to support student’s education as part of the IT Matters initiative. IT Matters is about “transforming instruction with relevant, personalized, collaborative and connected learning experiences that drives student engagement, which in turn, drives student achievement.” The Chromebooks assigned to the students are allowed to be taken home to support learning beyond the traditional school day.
