Celebrate 25 Years of Róisín Dubh on Oct. 11

Twenty-five years, more than 500 performances and generations of East Rochester musicians later, Róisín Dubh is celebrating a major milestone!
The East Rochester High School ensemble will mark its 25th anniversary with a special concert and celebration on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Historic German House in Rochester. Fittingly, the celebration falls exactly 25 years after the group’s first performance.
Current Róisín Dubh musicians will take the stage alongside alumni guest performers, with former members returning from as far away as New York City, Cincinnati and Chicago for an afternoon of music and memories.
What began in 2001 as the East Rochester High School Celtic Music Society has grown into a nationally recognized student ensemble known for its high-energy Irish music. Over the past quarter-century, the group has performed more than 500 times, released five albums, been heard on NPR’s The Thistle & Shamrock, appeared at state and national music education conferences and shared the stage with acclaimed Irish musicians from the Rochester region and around the world.
And the tradition continues. In 2026 alone, Róisín Dubh has performed at venues and events throughout the region and once again opened for—and performed alongside—legendary Irish ensemble Cherish the Ladies.
The anniversary celebration is open to the public, and the East Rochester community, Róisín Dubh alumni and anyone who has enjoyed the group over its 25-year history are encouraged to join current and former musicians in celebrating this special milestone.
Tickets and additional event information are available here through the Róisín Dubh website.
