East Rochester Schools uses ParentSquare and SchoolTool to help families stay connected and informed.

ParentSquare is our primary communication platform for district, school and classroom messages, while the SchoolTool Parent Portal provides families with convenient access to their students’ academic information.

ParentSquare - East Rochester UFSD’s Communication Tool of Choice!

ParentSquare is designed to keep parents informed and facilitate participation at school. It provides a safe, secure way for the district, principals, teachers, staff, and parents to communicate about disitrct and student matters.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

• Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification 
• Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once at 6pm daily
• Communicate in your preferred language
• Comment on school postings to engage in your school community
• Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
• Participate in group messages
• Sign up for parent-teacher conferences with smart online technology
• Send payments, sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more all from your phone or web portal

All school, grade level, and classroom information will now be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text or you can download the free App. The Help & Support question mark in the top right corner can help answer most of your questions.

SchoolTool Update Affecting Android Users Starting Oct. 30, 2026:

As of October 30, 2026, the current SchoolTool mobile app for Android devices will no longer be available for download from the Google Play Store.

What this means: Users who already have the app installed and are actively using it will be able to continue using the app after October 30, 2026. However, new installations and re-installations will no longer be available through the Google Play Store.

Parents and students can use SchoolTool the SchoolTool Mobile App and web browser to view information about current schedules, assignments, and attendance, depending on the district options.

What you will need:

1. The website URL (found above.)
2. The login account provided by East Rochester (the parent or student portal account that you use to access SchoolTool.
   1. Parents: It is your email address on record with the school
   2. Students: It is their username.

Getting Started:

• Download and install the SchoolTool mobile app from the Apple App store or Google Play Store by searching for “SchoolTool Mobile”.

• Enter the URL and your SchoolTool credentials. (Select the “Stay logged in” option if you do not want to enter this information each time you access the app.)

• Click “Log In”

After Logging In:

• You will be presented with a home screen that shows data for each student you have access to.

• The student’s current location in school is displayed, which includes the period, class time and course name.

  • Courses: displays the student schedule

  • Contacts: displays the adult contacts for the student

  • Grades: displays report card grades and comments 

  • Assignments: displays course assignments and grades 

  • Attendance: displays daily and classroom attendance

  • To view information in any of these areas, simply click on the data you want to view.

• If you have forgotten or need to reset your password, visit the SchoolTool webpage and click “Forgot Password”

More about the SchoolTool Parent Portal:

The goal of the Parent Portal is to provide seamless communication between teachers and parents in an efficient and effective manner. The portal provides parents with the ability to see their students’ academic information from anywhere an internet connection is available. Below is some information in regard to what you might expect to see on the Parent Portal for the different grade levels.

• Elementary School students. Elementary teachers provide communication to parents in many ways. Often times there are newsletters, information that is sent home in a child’s folder and, of course, there is a report card that goes home every 10 weeks. As part of the Parent Portal you’ll find additional information:
  1. Basic Contact information for the child and their family
  2. Attendance information
  3. State Test information
  4. Progress reports (@ weeks 5, 15, 25)
  5. Report Cards

• MLA/High School students. MLA/HS teachers will also be using the Parent Portal. You can expect to find:
  1. Basic Contact information for the child and their family
  2. Attendance information
  3. State Test information
  4. Progress reports (@ weeks 5, 15, 25)
  5. Report Cards
  6. Assignment grades (see note below)

Note: For MLA and High School students, different subjects and different assignments for the same subject have different time frames for when assignments are graded. When assignments are graded and handed back to the students, they will be available on the Parent Portal. The teacher determines what this timeframe will be. Please communicate with your child’s teacher(s) if you have any questions. You can even use the Parent Portal to email the teacher(s).
